Hult Prize Orientation Sparks Innovation at People’s Campus

The journey into social entrepreneurship started on a high note at People’s Campus with a successful orientation to the global Hult Prize competition on December 2, 2025. The event drew the participation of 81 enthusiastic participants to introduce students to the largest student competition dedicated to solving pressing global issues through innovation.

The program was inaugurated by Ms. Deepika Budhathoki, and then the auspicious lighting of the panas was performed by Campus Chief Mr. Manoj Bahadur Kunwar, Assistant Campus Chief Mr. Rojesh Pandit, and Campus Director Mr. Rozim Maharjan.

Mr. Rozim Maharjan gave a welcome speech, elaborating on the vision of the program. Next came Campus Chief Mr. Manoj Bahadur Kunwar, motivating the students to embrace social innovation. A cultural welcome was given with a traditional Kumari Dance by Ms. Aakriti Shakya.

The session’s highlight was the very enlightening talk by Ms. Riyaj Nepal, National Coordinator of Hult Prize Nepal. She offered great insights into the way students can convert their ideas into sustainable social enterprises. In her session, she had a highly interactive Q&A session with the audience.

As a token of appreciation, Mr. Rozim Maharjan presented a gift to Ms. Riyaj Nepal. The program came to an end with a vote of thanks by Mr. Suraj Regmi, followed by tea and networking, which allowed for informal interactions and the initial spark of world-changing ideas.

It was a truly successful orientation, laying the ground for a year of impactful social innovation at People’s Campus.
