The Hult Prize at People’s Campus took a significant step toward fostering global change by hosting an intensive session on “Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).” The event brought together 49 ambitious students eager to transform their business ideas into forces for social good.
The session opened with a warm welcome from Miss Yashaswi Shrestha of the Marketing and Communications team, setting an optimistic tone for the day. Following the opening, Mr. Rozim Maharjan, the Campus Director for the 2025/26 term, led a deep dive into the world of social impact. Mr. Maharjan effectively simplified the complex framework of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by using real-world examples to show that profit and purpose can thrive together. His demonstration provided participants with a practical roadmap for linking specific SDGs to their own business models.

Theory was quickly put into practice during a high-energy interactive workshop where participants formed teams to tackle a hands-on challenge. Each group was tasked with identifying a pressing social issue and developing a sustainable business solution within a limited timeframe. The atmosphere was electric as teams brainstormed and refined their pitches, spending the final minutes of the workshop ensuring their ventures were perfectly aligned with the relevant global goals.
The highlight of the event was the sequential pitch round, where teams presented their concepts to the audience and the Organizing Committee. The diversity of ideas showcased the students’ deep understanding of both local challenges and global responsibilities. After a rigorous evaluation by the committee members, the standout performers were recognized for their creativity and strategic thinking. The winning team was celebrated for their innovative approach and business feasibility, while the best presenter was honored for their ability to articulate a compelling vision with passion.
The winners received a chocolate-themed reward as a gesture of appreciation for their hard work and teamwork. The event concluded with closing remarks by Miss Yashaswi Shrestha, who thanked the participants for their dedication to social change. By empowering students to think like entrepreneurs and act like humanitarians, the Hult Prize at People’s Campus continues to prove that the next generation is ready to tackle the world’s toughest challenges.
